Jin10 data reported on August 16 that, according to the UK Daily Telegraph, Europe may relax sanctions on Russia if Putin promises to achieve a ceasefire within a specific timeframe. Following the meeting between Trump and the Russian President, EU ambassadors are currently holding emergency talks in Brussels. These senior diplomats are discussing what conditions the EU can offer to facilitate a ceasefire in Ukraine. It was previously reported that Trump had informed Zelensky and European leaders that Putin wishes to sign a comprehensive peace agreement immediately, rather than a temporary ceasefire agreement. Europe has yet to determine what time limits will be set for the proposal to relax sanctions in exchange for a ceasefire. EU leaders will issue a joint statement later on Saturday in response to the meeting between Trump and Putin.
