On August 22, Trump’s second son Eric Trump will attend the shareholder meeting of the Japanese Bitcoin financial company Metaplanet Inc on September 1. Metaplanet is a hotel operator that shifted to a Bitcoin treasury strategy in early 2024, having accumulated 18,888 BTC to date, worth over 2.1 billion USD, and appointed Trump’s second son Eric Trump as a strategic advisor in March. Meanwhile, Metaplanet shareholders will vote on new financing methods at the meeting on September 1. Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich previously stated that the target to increase Bitcoin holdings to 30,000 coins this year has not changed.
